The British curriculum will be delivered by a highly qualified, experienced and dedicated teaching staff, who create an industrious but supportive working environment where pupils are motivated to learn.
The school also incorporates the best tenets of UK independent education and our independence gives the freedom to develop beyond it. Through a wide range of subjects and opportunities we ensure that all pupils discover their own talents and strengths.
An Incredible Array of Extra-curricular activities
The size of the AGS campus will allow for a diverse and strong extra-curricular programme which will offer unique opportunities, challenges and fun.
Our aim is to encourage all students to take part and join in, whatever their level, and to achieve their personal best. Drama and music will feature strongly, leading to the formation of the AGS Choir, orchestra and theatre performances for parents. Sport will also be promoted heavily with teams participating in sporting events.
Good behaviour at the school will be of paramount importance. Our pupils will be encouraged to treat each other and adults with respect, courtesy and consideration. This will be supported through pastoral provision and teachers building strong relationships with pupils. Any problems will be dealt with rapidly through discussion with the class teacher, school nurse or counsellor with parental consent.
Issues such as bullying and social development are discussed through this system and through Personal, Social & Health Education lessons. Weekly assemblies will provide a vehicle for teaching moral leadership. Personal development will be further enhanced via the formation of a pupil council and through the roles of “Prefects” and “Monitors”.
Children's learning potential is maximised when they feel secure and happy in their environment. Irrespective of the age that a child joins AGS, we will always ensure that they are made to feel welcome and that they settle in quickly.
The school will create a sense of purpose and challenge, built on an atmosphere that is friendly, supportive and, above all, happy. As pupils grow through the school they will develop independence and self-motivation ultimately allowing them to thrive when they leave.
