Introduction

A’soud Global School (AGS) is a new innovative British school located in the Seeb area of Muscat which opened in September 2016. Initially welcoming both expatriate and local Omani children from the ages of 3 to 12 in our Pre-prep and Prep school with children progressing organically through the school on a year by year basis, ultimately providing a British Education for children from 3 to 18 years of age. AGS currently has children of 32 different nationalities enrolled in the school for September

Our Vision

AGS seeks to realise the potential of each child by setting challenges that encourage the use of initiative, teamwork and the development of leadership capabilities. It is our aim that students leave the school as self-confident young people equipped with the knowledge, skills and social attributes allowing them to lead a happy and fulfilled life and to make a difference in the wider community and beyond.

We achieve our vision by providing:

  • A rich and stimulating educational experience which encompasses academic, extra-curricular and social activities
  • A supportive and industrious learning environment for pupils focusing on academic potential, irrespective of means and background.
  • A purpose built facility situated on a secure and spacious site equipped with the very latest facilities in science, sports, drama and technology.
Why AGS?

AGS provides a British Education within an international setting. The school will follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum for England and Wales (adapted to further the academic rigour expected of a British independent school). Children will be assessed though teacher observations when they begin school, progressing to bench mark assessments on a regular basis throughout the academic year. Students will take IGCSE’s in Senior school leading to A’ Levels thereafter.

We aim to deliver a high quality, personalised, educational experience within an enjoyable learning environment that is safe and nurturing for the students in our care. The Headmaster, will guide a senior leadership and management team. All AGS senior educationalists will have a wealth of UK and internationally based experience. They will support and supervise the qualified British teaching staff, overseeing the delivery of the curriculum, teaching and learning outcomes within the classrooms.

What AGS offers

Academic Excellence

The British curriculum will be delivered by a highly qualified, experienced and dedicated teaching staff, who create an industrious but supportive working environment where pupils are motivated to learn.

The school also incorporates the best tenets of UK independent education and our independence gives the freedom to develop beyond it. Through a wide range of subjects and opportunities we ensure that all pupils discover their own talents and strengths.

An Incredible Array of Extra-curricular activities

The size of the AGS campus will allow for a diverse and strong extra-curricular programme which will offer unique opportunities, challenges and fun.

Our aim is to encourage all students to take part and join in, whatever their level, and to achieve their personal best. Drama and music will feature strongly, leading to the formation of the AGS Choir, orchestra and theatre performances for parents. Sport will also be promoted heavily with teams participating in sporting events.

Pastoral

Good behaviour at the school will be of paramount importance. Our pupils will be encouraged to treat each other and adults with respect, courtesy and consideration. This will be supported through pastoral provision and teachers building strong relationships with pupils. Any problems will be dealt with rapidly through discussion with the class teacher, school nurse or counsellor with parental consent.

Issues such as bullying and social development are discussed through this system and through Personal, Social & Health Education lessons. Weekly assemblies will provide a vehicle for teaching moral leadership. Personal development will be further enhanced via the formation of a pupil council and through the roles of “Prefects” and “Monitors”.

Children's learning potential is maximised when they feel secure and happy in their environment. Irrespective of the age that a child joins AGS, we will always ensure that they are made to feel welcome and that they settle in quickly.

The school will create a sense of purpose and challenge, built on an atmosphere that is friendly, supportive and, above all, happy.  As pupils grow through the school they will develop independence and self-motivation ultimately allowing them to thrive when they leave.
